Система

System Bet

A system bet is a combination bet: the player selects several events and places a stake on every combination of them of a set size (for example, "2 from 3"). A payout is possible even if some of the predictions fail.

What is Система (System Bet)?

A system bet groups several selected events into a set of accumulators of fixed size. If n events are selected and the system is k from n, the bookmaker forms C(n,k) accumulators, each made up of k events. The total stake is split across the combinations, so each accumulator gets only a part of it, and if every combination loses, the stake is lost in full.

## Where it is used and what it affects

Players use systems when they want to reduce the risk of a long accumulator, since predictions on individual events can be more accurate than predictions on all of them at once. Each bookmaker sets its own rules (minimum and maximum selection size, how a voided event is treated, maximum payouts), so they need to be read before placing the bet. The bookmaker's margin is built into every accumulator, so with all else equal, the expected return of a system is usually lower than that of single bets on the same events.

## Common mistakes

A typical mistake is to assume a system "insures" against losses. It reduces the variance of the result but does not make the bet a winning one. A second mistake is to overlook that the stake is divided across all combinations, and not to check how the bookmaker handles a voided or refunded event within the system.

FAQ

How does a system bet differ from a regular accumulator?

An accumulator is a single bet on all selected events at once, and it wins only if every event wins. A system is a set of smaller accumulators, so a payout is possible even when some of the events lose.

Is a system bet better than an accumulator?

There is no single answer. A system reduces the risk of losing the whole stake, but with the same predictions it usually pays less, because the stake is split across combinations and the margin applies to each of them.

What happens if one event in a system is voided?

It depends on the bookmaker's rules: usually the voided event is removed from the accumulators or counted at odds of 1. Check this point in the terms before placing the bet.
